Our history

Fred Bearden created Aircraft Information Management (AIM) in 1982 to serve the needs of the emerging market for independent aircraft appraisals.

In 1986, Bearden merged AIM with a newly formed Airclaims consultancy, AVTIS, and took over management of that firm. By 1990 Avtis became Airclaims Information Services Inc., a part of Airclaims North America, of which Mr. Bearden was President.

In 1992, Bearden bought out the North American consultancy assets and practice of Airclaims and renamed the company Aircraft Information Services, Inc. (AISI). AISI retained all previous U.S. consultancy assets and clients and began operations in California with qualified associates worldwide.

AISI was purchased by Mark Halsor and Dave Miller in 2011 as equal owners, with Fred Bearden remaining as an integral member of the company.

AISI has continued to grow in scope, services and clients and has established an international reputation for responsive, reliable, consistent and accurate value opinions and technical advice.

In 2020, AISI merged with AAMI, though they continue to operate as sister companies, in order to provide the most complete portfolio of aviation appraisal services to our clients. For any of your appraisal needs, contact us for more information.
